INTERCHANGE: A Multi-Reality Gateway

The INTERCHANGE R&D project is part of ‘5G Futures’ – a collaborative initiative commissioned through Innovate UK, for media companies to work with Prox & Reverie, an immersive technology innovation lab and design agency. 

INTERCHANGE is a next-generation Metaverse content system  designed to deliver a working portal experience for fans and audiences to meet on-screen characters and step into their worlds. It is creating an accessible way for people to experience a jump between physical locations for both media customers but also production teams so it can be used in Virtual Production for fast IP development and delivery. Using the power of 5G the project is exploring how these experiences can also be used in public venues to create an XR transport system.
