Black Goblin is a Sound Service and Technology company based in Edinburgh.
Our mission is to transform the way people work with sound by empowering creatives with the right tools and processes to succeed.

The company renders bespoke sound services for the Film, TV, Games and Arts and Culture industries while using real life work experiences to develop innovative technologies for the creation of custom sound design and its implementation in other emerging sectors.

Black Goblin took part in the Resident Entrepreneur programme by Creative Informatics with the main goal to develop “SUBVERSIVE”, a comprehensive sound tool aimed at creatives with no professional audio experience.

Powered by physical modelling, procedural audio techniques and machine learning, SUBVERSIVE allows anyone to create sound from scratch in an easy, non-technical way, and having a positive impact in the economic and environmental aspects of sound production.

Furthermore, Black Goblin’s unique method for partnering with creatives and focusing on the usage of sound for reinforcing narrative and storytelling has seen them collaborating with Filmmakers, visual artists and startups developing VR games and visitor experiences.
